Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bluebrick

Formulaic Table Table pub / restaurant attached to a Premier Inn, with the usual dull modern furniture and decor in the various seating / dining areas. On the plus side, it does do two real ales: Tribute and Hobgoblin (£3.35) when I stopped by. Better still, a couple of local musicians were having a photo-shoot in one corner, and a good laugh was had by us all.

A very modern Table Table pub/eatery adjacent to the Premier Inn, which is in, yes, undressed blue brick and wood. It has a patio area.

The interior is an irregular open-pla room in red, white, wood panel, fake stone and undressed blue brick. There are several TVs that were showing the rugby and soft background music. Lots of vases, stone finials, miniture chests and such like a fitted neatly into wooden racking and yes, there is chopped wood as well. The art is mainly abstract stuff - i puzzled over it, looking for meaning, but the 5 year-old artist had me defeated. Sofas, with the vases and abstract art, help to give that natural Ikea look. The service was fine and it was busy enough with a mixed clietele, mainly dining. I didn't eat so can't comment on that, though a friend has eaten here and does recommend the food.

Beer; tap stuff with Hobgoblin and an OK Banks's bitter on handpull

Although they are safe to visit, these cloned places become dull. I long for the day that a badly behaved kid runs amok, with all those vases about - aren't i cruel?

This is a brand new build pub next to the new Premier Travel Inn, it’s one of the Table Table chain. It’s quite nicely done in a plastic chain bar sort of way, although some of the pictures are pretty good. If you’ve been in one of these places before then you’ve effectively been here as well. It’s a very large place totally aimed at diners, but drinkers are reasonably well catered for, although there’s no lounge style seating, its all dining tables. There are two handpumps on the bar selling Pedigree and Banks’s Bitter. The Pedigree was a very reasonable £2.45 for the city centre and tasted OK if a little cold. There are several big screen TVs around the place showing Sky Sports News along with a Quiz machine. There’s also a large outdoor seating area with fantastic views of the back of the station and the main road. I won’t be visiting again, but I’ve been in a lot worse.
