Little appears to have changed with this pub since the last review, apart from the onset of Covid.

The pub has a large car park at the rear and we were alarmed to see quite a few people leaving the pub and heading to their cars as we arrived. We feared that the pub was closing for the afternoon. But no worries, it was just the end of the lunchtime rush.

There were quite a few young staff here and one was available to greet us with the customary "have you booked?" and to take all names and telephone numbers.

When we said we were only drinking, only outdoor seating was offered, provided we didn't use any of the wooden shed-type constructions that were for the solitary use of diners.

I did wander into the pub itself to make use of the facilities and as the previous review states, it is certainly quite big, with a number of different spaces. I did spot a few diners rattling around the empty areas.

Hobgoblin Gold & Clogwyn Gold were the real ales.

On leaving, I said goodbye to the young waitresses at the entrance podium. They asked me if I'd paid and I nonchantly stated "yes" and they said "thank you, goodbye", only for me to realise that I hadn't in fact paid. Honesty took hold and I returned to admit my error. Drinking in Wales and having to pay after the event is so much more confusing, now that you pay when you get your drinks again in England!

Big pub with the entrance to the rear. Definitely food oriented and no strong real ales on offer.

David HENDERSON left this review about The Plough Inn

My lady friend and I went on a Tuesday 7pm I had a prawn cocktail, no sauce only three tiny dribbles on the plate, also served on a dinner plate. Then fillet of hake with king prawns and salad, not bad tasting but not enough. Then sticky toffee pudding, well this was not sticky toffee pudding at all more like a piece of cake. Asked for a jug of custard, the jug contained one inch of custard, £1 a jug, took this back and had it deleted from the bill. All in all too much emphasise on presentation and portions not enough on quality and quantity. Wont go there again. and it used to be so good many years one of the best places to eat, ha ho progress eh!!
