Marston's pub that was the last Rhuddlan pub to appear in the Good Beer Guide back in 2008.

It no longer serves real ale, so its omission is warranted. Having said that, there does appear to be a micropub in Rhuddlan. So, the town may be re-appearing in the Guide shortly.

After being told off by a local for trying to access the pub using the "exit", as good citizens, we entered at the front and waited (as requested) to be seated. We waited and waited and after enough waiting decided to find our own table. We waited and waited and very nearly decided to serve ourselves. After further waiting, we had to wander around the pub to find a staff member. There were 2 of this rare species casually chatting to one another in an otherwise empty room. Two families had arrived during their conversation.

The barman did eventually explain that real ale should return when Wales returns to normal, whenever that may be. Maybe it increases the risk of catching Covid by selling it at the moment. I don't quite understand this rationale.

The interior is a typical family-friendly place, geared towards dining. Disappointing to say the least.

Only went in the side entrance so missed one of the rooms. This was mainly for diners and there was no real ale.

Large gastropub with separate areas for drinking and eating. Seating outside which is pleasant in the summer. Real ales available.
