Now called DV8@The Black Bear. Dear oh dear, oh dear. Though the exterior and interior still scream olde worlde pub the reality is totally different. A tedious, expensive cocktail and fizzpop nightmare has taken over. All handpumps have gone and the biggest pile of fizzy crap is now available from 6 fonts. A good pub totally ruined.

6/5/16
A pleasant older worlde pub in the Sandbach square. Its all wooden beams and pillars and multi-roomed. Pleasant to sit outside during decent weather. 4 handpumps but only 3 on today with Doom Bore, Black Sheep Bitter and Marston's EPA. The other pump had its clip reversed. Another of Sandbach's nice pubs. 8.

The Black Bear is a really nice looking pub on the market place, the upper half of the pub is painted black and white.
Once inside the pub was quite smart and it had a cosy feel to it,there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Tetley bitter as this is a tetley tied house and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Pedigree.
There was also a couple of picnic tables at the front to watch the world go by.
I thought this was a really decent pub.
