Have to concur with Jonathan as below. Visited late on a Sunday lunchtime, was intending to have a pint and some chips or other snack - and when we asked if there was any free, was curtly told by the bar manageress that the only table free was "that one" - with a finger jabbing at an occupied table. Looked an okay former coaching inn with rustic, entirely average foodie pretensions, but the cold reception leads one to conclude that never again would possibly be too soon.

Sadly more of a restaurant than a pub with only the bar area being available for seating unless you are eating, as informed by staff member. Possibly not the best time to visit on a Sunday afternoon given the popularity of Sunday lunch so may be different story regarding seating at less popular eating times. Very characterful pub with low doorways that would require even the shortest person to duck.
