A large roadside Vintage Inns ,the brewers tudor exterior has been repainted in a modern corporate grey green scheme. The interior has been revamped in that rustic style utilised by Vintage and has been well done.Lots of unplaned wood which also clads the bar, deliberately unmatched furniture and commendably two real fires places with log fires burning on my windy lunchtime visit. All the windows at the rear of the pub give great views over the River Soar which flows past ,and which has passing river traffic. The pub has it's own single mooring, while an outside terrace has riverside tables for al fresco dining in fine weather. There is a large beer garden to one side of the pub as well. The interior rambles around with most tables laid for dining, but if you just want to drink there is a long leather bound banquette opposite the bar,and a cluster of chesterfield uprights by a window. All very smart ,yet comfortable. However the three handpumps were only drawing Marston's Pedigree (someone forgot to pull through the first pint ,I got a lot of wood),Doom Bar and Brakspear's Bitter so this isn't a Vintage Inns with much commitment to interesting real ale.The standard food menu was not supplemented by daily specials and there was no community connection.Despite the pleasing interior ,not much for me to sanction another visit.

This pub used to be called the White House and was a Bass house.
The pub is about a mile south of the middle of Kegworth and it backs onto the river soar so it is ideal sitting in the garden watching the ducks and boats go by.
I think this pub sells real ale but it was'nt open when i took this photo.
