An attractive thatched roadside inn, nicely summed up by Alan, below. There is a gravel car park at the side, and on this occasion the large, lawned garden hosted a marquee to provide extra covered seating. Getting served was a fussy affair, requiring being escorted to a table and given a menu, even though we made it clear we only wanted a drink. It’s a Palmers house, so the beer selection is predictable. IPA and Dorset Gold were accompanied by First Press cider; the ale was in good condition. The staff were friendly, but being on an A road meant a surplus of families on holiday with the associated entitled teenagers and untrained toddlers. Food is basic pub grub dressed as restaurant food, and averagely priced. Children aside it was quite a peaceful place and I’d be happy to stop in for refreshments in future if time is short.

The Half Moon is a thatched Palmers tied house that is on the main road linking Bridport to Beaminster.
Once inside here the pub has an olde worlde look to it with comfy seating in the bar there is also a seperate restaurant and pool room in this pub, there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Palmers best bitter which was very nice the other beers were Palmers 200 and Bridport bitter.
This was a nice looking pub both inside and out and i was quite happy having a drink in here.
