Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Runt in Tun

Interesting-looking place dating from about 1908 short distance south of the town, and my taking a few photographs started a good-natured argument between a few locals about whether it was purpose-built as a pub or not (although all agreed that it replaced one in an older building next door). The opened-out, U-shaped interior is lighter than I expected, with a lounge front / centre and a dining area to the left. Harvey's and Long Man's Long Blonde (£4.40) available from the three handpumps.

Steve C left this review about The Runt In Tun

The Runt in Tun is located beside the B2203 half way between Heathfield and Maynard’s Green, which makes access by foot difficult. The actual pub is set back from the main road by a front car park and to the left of the pub is a hedge lined and sloped grass covered area that houses a few picnic tables. Out the back is a very big beer garden that has facilities to keep children of all ages entertained, but this area was closed off during my recent midweek afternoon visit.
The interior is made up of a small L shaped bar area where a standard draught selection is available alongside three hand pumps that were drawing Harvey’s Best, WJ King’s Brighton Best and 1648 Triple Champion. There is a television to the right of the bar that was showing horse racing on channel four. I will add that my visit coincided with the Cheltenham Festival and I doubt very much that horse racing in the afternoon is a regular occurrence. I didn’t see any Sky Sports and there was no background music competing with the television. The only regular event I saw advertised was the poker night that occurs every Thursday from 20:00. To the left of the bar area through an ironwork arch is a small dining area and after perusing the menu I gleaned that the mains cost around £8 and are traditional pub fayre.
At the rear of the pub beyond the garden is a certified campsite for those who own a camper van and would like to visit the heart of East Sussex.

This is a nice little pub with a polite governor and although there was only one other customer he was very friendly and chatty. I would have no problem returning here for another visit.
