Pleasingly country-pubby and pleasingly full on a Wednesday evening this has a small and narrow public bar to the left on entry with an opened-up inglenook fireplace against the rear wall, low lighting and lots of bric a brac. The main rectangular room entered into is more modernised, with the first few tables available to those just on a liquid diet, those at the back set out. The four ale line-up was made up of Fuller's London Pride, Wadworth 6X, Young's Bitter and Adnam's Southwold and while decent the latter was, one wonders why the local Malt Brewery isn't represented given the proximity...?
