E TA left this review about The Old Forge

A modern pub based on an extended 16th Century building which was, as the name suggests, the village forge. There is a tidy car park and a smart garden with tables, chairs and umbrellas. Inside is a single large bar with a selection of tables, chairs and sofas for diners and drinkers. The clientele are a mixed bag, mostly white collar workers, ladies wot lunch and locals. Three ales on - I had a pint of Ubu which was in very good condition. Worth deviating from the M3 to find for a decent beer or meal.

Laura Hayes left this review about The Old Forge

This building dates back to the 17th century, where on St. Clement’s Day, the Firing of the Anvil was carried out at the Old Forge.

The first historic record of Otterbourne can be found in the Doomsday Book, compiled and published in Winchester in 1086. Otterbourne is a pretty village with several beautiful walks through open countryside and woodland habitat.
The Old Forge boasts a stylish new interior which adds to the traditional charm and character of the building. Features include roaring open fires, low beam ceilings and several cosy areas to relax in. Guests will get great, friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere.
