Previously avoided due to being a cheap and nasty steak house, I am pleasantly surprised that this pub has now undergone a complete change and is now a very pleasant place to be. The large mock-Tudor house sits in its own grounds in the centre of the village and has plenty of parking at the front and rear. There is a large garden, mostly laid to lawn, with a children’s play area and a small paved terrace. Once inside you find two large bar areas with wooden floors, exposed timbers and various eclectic bits and pieces including prints from the nearby military airfield. There is exposed brickwork on some walls and an impressive brick fireplace. Seating is a good balance of tables for diners and comfy chairs for drinkers and loungers. A good value-for-money menu is now offered, though they still do have steak nights – hopefully more upmarket than previously. There is a small but decent selection of wine, and there were three ales on this time – I had a pint of Andwell’s King John Bitter, a decent pint very well kept. There is free WiFi, B&B and a pleasant ambiance to complete the picture. I am happy to drop in here when passing for a meal and/or a few beers.

Fantastic for FAMILYS KIDS more welcome then any thing else with the big fun packed garden bouncy castles park and even rabbits to cuddle.
Even when they have disco's at night the kids are welcome to join in....
Go you won't regret it.
