A handy stroll of less than five minutes from Barrow railway station, and definitely preferable to remaining on the platform if you have a 30 minute wait for your train. It's a handsome hotel building, though the bar is nothing special - it's a large room with two parts, and the bar counter has several hand pumps featuring beers from Lancaster Brewery. This is a competent if largely unexciting brewery, and if you can afford to wait for a later train you could do a lot worse than sample a half of each, or even a pint, depending on how many are available: Amber, Blonde and Red at the time of my recent visit.

Bit plain and basic hotel bar, one room split into two areas, mainly high stools around tables, the other has lower seating. Bit minimalist but its tidy and has good beer

After the match & with a 30 minute wait before our train back to Lancaster we had a chance for a quick pint in this large hotel by the Station.

Owned and managed by Lancaster Brewery, the refurb has been very well done and is by far the nicest and well run pub in Barrow (in my opinion). Geared up for diners and a night time crowd, the place was starting to get busy by 5.30pm.

Always good to see that a brewery pub have their own ales on and the Duke of Edinburgh is no different, with a good number of Lancaster ales on the hand pumps, I went for a very good pint of Sorachi @ 4.1%.

Notably more expensive here than in the other pub but as a I say this is much nicer and would not look out of a place in a larger town or city.

Unsure if I will ever return to the town of Barrow but if I do this place will be my first and possibly only stop. Well worth a visit as far as I’m concerned.
