Run by Lancaster Brewery. Surprisingly upmarket given it's the station pub, housed in a large and imposing red brick building and attracting the more well-to-do crowd on the whole. Large place given a fairly tasteful 2015-era makeover in the two rooms, with brown and mushroom shades; the right hand room is the nominal eatery. Eight pumps with seven cask available, four being from Lancaster. Halves of Black (NBSS 2.5) and Red (3.5). GBG listed – the only pub in town with that accolade, which tells you something. It’s decent enough, in context, but not really 'pubby'. 6.5

Only Good Beer Guide 2025 pub in a town of 67K. Imposing hotel. Inside, identical (including menus and buzzer system) to the Mill at Ulverston. Right down to the same person serving me four days later.
Hotel style bar, with high stools in bar with wooden floors and carpetted lounge. Beer was fine, with another Lancaster red taken. Prices, scandalous. When steak got too expensive, I started ordering gammon. Here it is £21. And you get one egg.
5 years to I exist on crisps. I cannot afford scratchings even now.

The Chairman left this review about Duke of Edinburgh Hotel
A big and busy pub across the road from the railway station. Has a selection of Lancaster Brewery beers along with some guest ales, including an excellent Stockport Stout. The pub also provides table service using a buzzer system, although my buzzer didn't appear to work! This is just a minor detail though, and this is a good place to spend an hour waiting for a train or, if you are luckier then me, a football match!
