Not much to add to BF's thorough review below from 2010. Chef & Brewer-esque inside with an emphasis on food, this still had a clutch of locals, albeit on the older side (it's a lot more sedate in here than the nearby Rose & Crown). Four GK ales - IPA, Abbot Ale, 'Plume of Feathers Finest Ale' and something called Festival Ale, which was a nice fruity, hoppy light ale. Locals were friendly and staff were polite, and although it's no award-winner, I took to this place unlike the majority of places in and around WGC.

This pub is now owned by Greene King,has had a makeover and is now a family orientated dining establishment.Through the narrow front door there are dining areas to the left and right with a centrally situated bar.The flooring throughout was factory produced flag stones and several distressed timber beams have been added to the original structural beams to emphasize the rustic theme,severely overdone.GK IPA and Abbott only on handpump but at least the ale was clear if uninspiring.Quite possible to drink in here without eating.The food menu is standard GK fare and there are a few specials on a blackboard by the bar.The shere volume of meals produced indicates vacuum packed precooked meals reheated on site and there are value deals during the week.However no complaints from me on what finally arrived at our table.The is a vast garden and outside decking where in good weather families with small children congregate and the petanque track is now a weedy sandpit for the nippers.A corporate eating house with little pub atmosphere but popular with a wide range of punters and value for money if you are not too discerning.
