No real ale in this Wetherspoons-emulating takeover of a lovely old building. Massively Victoriana inside, it was full of bright young things on my visit, complete with loud music and I was stung for £2.40 for a half of Birra Moretti.

The Pitcher & Piano is housed in a decent looking building on Hitchin's Market Place.
Once inside it looked even better, there is a large oblong shaped room with the bar on the left side, there are tall tables and chairs opposite the bar, there is a decent sized raised area in the middle of the room which looked very nice with railings around it,there were normal tables and chairs in this area, there was bench seating to the front, the ceiling was very high witha glass roof,it all looked very impressive.
There were no real ales on the bar,so i had a drink of Heineken, which was a decent drink.
This is sort of pub to take your Mam or Wife to for a pleasant drink or a bite to eat.
