Steve of N21 left this review about The Queens Head

The Queens Head in Rothbury is a traditional old fashioned Inn, which still functions as a pub / restaurant and B&B. Apparently first built in 1792 and originally known as the Golden Fleece, the name was changed to The Queens Head to commemorate the accession of Queen Victoria to the throne in 1837.
The traditional carpeted saloon bar with comfy seating to the right of the hotel entrance and the separate dining room to the left are both open to non-residents and if the experience of our two visits were anything to go by the bar area is very popular with locals, tourists and ramblers alike.
The bar supports four hand pumps and a couple of run of standard offerings of Marstons Pedigree and Shep Neame Spitfire were complimented by Maxim brewery Double Maxim and the very good Harviestoun Schiehallion and the latter two were tried and in good condition.
Live folk music is held in the bar on the first Tuesday and last Thursday of the month, and posters would indicate that the pub runs pool and darts teams who compete in local league.
