The Manor at Toton is a roadside pub at the junction of two busy main roads. The pub is a slightly more middle class venue than your standard boozer and is as much as a restaurant as a pub. The pub is oblong shaped with the bar running alongside the left hand side. With some beams separating the central drinking area and the outer dining area. The pub is in a traditional style but a more high end way than usual with fancier décor and a more modern feel but it does still feel like a pub and once I was comfortable seating in and just having a beer. Although it is very food orientated Drinkers have just as much right as diners and are treated as such which is not always a given in these sort of places so it is good to see it has not forgotten the now sadly rarer sight of someone going to the pub just for a beer. There were four hand pulls on the bar but only two beers available, Castle Rocks Harvest pale (£3.30) and Wadworths St George and the Dragon (x2) with the last pump unclipped. Although a limited choice on the beer front I can’t complain too much as the Harvest pale was kept very nicely and went down treat after the long walk down from Beestson. Although a bit modern and not a proper drinkers pub I was happy having a well-kept beer here and would gladly return especially as my cricket team visit here once a year for an away match. There are not too many pubs around here so this is a decent place to go.

A large pub dating from the 1930s (?) on the old main road, It consists of a large house which has been extended, while the downstairs bars have been opened out to form a single large, though somewhat rambling, bar/dining area. The main trade is diners, and the restaurant-like setting reflects this, with most of the area taken up by properly laid tables and lots of adverts for their services as caterers for all kinds of events. That said, there is a 'comfortable seating area' for drinkers, and there is a small cadre of regulars who have it as their local. Staff were friendly and helpful, and prices were reasonable. Free wifi was available. Only ale on was Abbott which was well kept, although a little cool. Overall, it's a nice place to spend a relaxing afternoon or have a pleasant meal out.

The Manor was opened by Tom Cobleigh about 15 years ago and is on what local people call Toton corner.
This is a smartish pub when you go in the bar faces you and there is lots of comfy seating around the pub which has different drinking areas, there are a couple of real ales on the bar which tend to be from larger independants. The pub also does food and it is popular with older people.
This is a decent smart pub to have a few drinks in.
