Requested be closed with reason - Other: The Castle is still closed after trying to do it on three separate occasions,the landlord in Just Beer also said the pub had closed down. Tried to do it yesterday but sill closed.

This is a traditional ale house with six beers and a cider available at the time of our visit. The beers were Sharps Doom Bar, Courage Best and two each from Oldershaw and Milestone. I had one of the Milestone beers and my drinking companion went for the Courage, and both beers were in very good condition. Judging by our visit and those of others before us, this is a good reliable beer house.

A good traditional pub serving seven ales from chrome finished handpulls. The pub is narrow but goes back quite a way. There was a small seated area on the right as you enter. Up a few steps to a tiny area before the bar and then up a couple of more steps the bar area. The rear area of the pub was the largest space. I went for the Elgoods Cambridge, which was spot on.

Excellent beer pub. Great range on the bar during our visit from Sunchaser to Elgoods Black Dog. I had a pint of Castle Ale which was excellent. No music at 2pm just a crowd of drinkers and late lunch eaters. The pub was so good that we returned at 6pm for a second pint having crawled round most of the decent watering holes in the town.
