The New Inn is a stone built pub that is a short walk from the main shopping area.
Once inside we went into an L shaped room with the bar facing,,the room is carpeted and had comfy bench seating to the front left and normal tables and chairs elsewhere.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Tring Sidepocket which went down well,the other beers noted were Taylor Landlord,Black Sheep,Butts Barbalous and Doom Bar.
Background music was playing which was of a bluesey type,probably because the landlord was well into music of that type,there is a very nice outside courtyard to the rear which has a fish pond with some decent sized fish in it.
I quite took to this pub,one i could well stay in for a session.

At the far end of the pub filled Corn Street, this is a largish GBG listed pub comprising a single open plan room with alcoves off and a nice big open fire place filling the place with the scent of wood smoke on my visit. Modernish décor with carpet expect by the bar where its laminate, brown wainscoting, some exposed stone and bench seating with an exciting pattern that could become too much after a few. There is a large aspidistra in the corner and candle powered tables, I didn't see a dart board but there was a good display of trophies. The counter is central in the room and has 7 pumps, one for scrumpy the others with a more or less prosaic range of ales, Tribute, Brakspears, Hook Norton (Old Hooky), Hobgoblin, Black Sheep Bitter and a couple of beers from Wickwar, it's GBG listed so the beers were as good as expected. A low T Bar provides the usual kegs. It was very quiet when I called in but the service was good and the locals friendly – all two of them. It has regular live music and an allegedly eccentric landlord.
