B&B, food led multi roomer that goes on and on.... especially when you are looking for the gents :-)

Beautifully decorated with lost of painting, pictures, art works of the Thames and so on.

Possibly two tables not set up for dining but importantly, one was right in front of the real wood burning fire.

Typical Brakspear beers on - and the Oxford Gold will never set the pulses racing.

Cask Marque accredited and they are stocking the local CAMRA magazine. This may bode will for them in future years.

Another Brakspear country pub, this was once owned by T'Pau lead singer Carol Decker. Leaning towards the money, there's the obligatory gravelled car park and plenty were dining on a Sunday lunchtime, with separate dining areas located either side of the bar, which is faced to the centre-right as you enter (signs on the door also indicate 'Recommended for the Michelin Guide'). Low beams are a mixture of the old and new and there's a mix of flagstone and wooden floor. The area opposite the bar has a mixture of seating, but pleasingly it's obviously set aside for wet custom and ale-wise, it's slightly more adventurous than some local competitors even if the three-ale line-up comprised Brakspear Bitter, Ringwood Razorback and Brakspear Varsity Pale Ale (the latter of which was £2.05 for a half) has a ring of 'usual suspects' to it. There's a generous beer garden out front adjacent to the car park, which plenty were taking advantage of on a clement mid-September Sunday.

March 2013 (from BITE)
Low-beamed pub interior upon entrance with part-flagstoned, part-wooden floor. Eating areas through open doorways either side of the bar area. Two ales on: Brakspear Bitter and Oxford Gold, £3.50 and £3.60 respectively. Crisps (Salty Dog) £1.30. Piped beats and breaks seguing into jazz over the speakers. Hobgoblin-battered Takeaway Haddock & Square Cut Chips and caper mayo wrapped in the Henley Standard for £9.50.
