E TA left this review about The Three Pigeons

A traditional village pub, also known as The Old Three Pigeons, on what used to be the main road, now thankfully bypassed by the A5.  It looks a bit run down from outside, but it's been renovated sympathetically, retaining old features and remaining a homely, welcoming inn.  There is a tidy garden entered from the car park, and a smoking terrace at the back.  The main bar has an inglenook and fairly new floorboards, and there is a dining room down some steps, which also has exposed beams and floor boards.  There is a third bar which, like the main bar, has a variety of comfortable seating arrangements.  Food is freshly cooked, a blend of really good traditional pub grub and some more exotic choices.  Three ales on draft, Stonehill Station Bitter, Battlefield 1066 and Rowton Bitter, all in excellent condition.  The beer is also reasonably priced, though I thought 75p for a small ramekin with three bits of pork crackling was a bit steep. Overall, a pretty good place to roost for a few hours, and worth homing in on if passing down the A5.
