You've got to really want to go there! Grass growing in the centre of the lanes that are a good couple of miles from the nearest main road.

In prime walking country - it's easy to pick up the Golden Valley, the Portway and Long Mynd. Other village nearby (Ratlinghope and Woolstaston) are less lucky and have no pub.

Well described by Will below - its a former farmhouse, with low ceilings, beams, multi room around a central bar and a superb fireplace (much needed after a frosty 9 miler).

Ludlow Gold and a Hobsobs Bitter (I think). Other notable features - Sunday Lunch includes sandwiches, as well as roasts (some places only cater for roasts). And when I got out to my car, two horses were parked in the next bay :-)

Worth seeking out.

Will Larter left this review about The Bottle & Glass

A multi-roomed traditional cottage-style pub in an isolated village in the Shropshire Hills area of outstanding natural beauty. All the rooms are equipped for dining, with just a few stools around the bar and a couple of less formal tables and bench seating where drinkers might feel comfortable. This pub still observes afternoon closing between the lunchtime session and reopening at 6pm. I was in a small queue at 17:58, and by 18:05 there were more than a dozen people in the place. There's an open fireplace and some very quiet background music was noticeable and could have become an irritant on a longer stay if there were no conversational hum to suppress it.

There are four hand pumps, partially hidden behind some woodwork which presumably still retains the important function of keeping the building from falling down. Hobsons Best and Twisted Spire, Wye Valley Butty Bach and Three Tuns XXX were the beers on offer. I commented to the landlord that some country pubs around here seem to struggle to keep the XXX drinkable, and his was the best I'd come across. He accepted the compliment, while acknowledging that it is a difficult beer to keep on form.

Proper rural country pub set on the edge of Shropshires spectacular Hill Country , its a a bit of a drive from the main roads along narrowish and at times pretty steep roads either from Dorrington or Rattlinghope(Ratchup in local dialect) , there are some great views on te way .
The pub itself is in the heart of the small village , converted from a farmhouse in the 1830s , there are lots of low beams in te multi-roomed interior , anyone over 5-10 will have to mind their head.
The bar is the heart of the pub with its lovelly log fire , tere is also a seperate resturant and a lounge in similar style .
Four handpulls with local beers from Hobsons , Woods and Wye Valley all in decent nick .
This place is a little gem well worth seeking out.
