A pub I would describe as pleasant but not particularly remarkable in any way. L shaped inside with wooden flooring and a fair bit of exposed brickwork on the walls, casual seating throughout. Five handpumps in all but a choice of three beers, two from Fullers, Pride and Seafarers plus Shere Drop from Surrey Hills Brewery. It was a hot day and as I was driving
I settled for a shandy. A nice enough pub that served it's purpose.

Corner location with the bar ahead of the main door on entering. A few timber beams with brasses in the main bar area, a shelf had a few random bits of paraphernalia such as an old mincing machine, kettle, oil can etc, there was a fire lit to the right in a large hearth. The room winds around behind the bar to a large and rather bland conservatory area that doesn't really feel in keeping with the main pub. This area looked to be mainly used for eating judging by the table set up but it was deserted on our visit. Another small room to the left of the bar had a small fireplace, unlit on our visit, but which felt a bit like a snug albeit with the toilets off. The very large garden with plenty of benches has a seperate adult only area.
Beers as listed by RR below and shown on a chalkboard over the bar. Pump clips and mats around the place suggest a reasonable guest rotation policy.
Interestingly, documentation pinned beside the bar suggests that the pub's new owners may be intending to redevelop the pub (still as a pub I might add) including the removal of the conservatory.

The Plough has reopened on the 10th November after being closed for a month. There is now a new licensee .The difference in this pub is unbelievable ! Its a lot cleaner ,smells fresher, glasses dont stick to the table anymore,Its had a coat of emulsion and just looks and feels better,And the fire is lit!!!!gone are those damn Newfoundlands belonging to the previous owner. The improved quality of all the beers and lagers is remarkable.I know its early days but its good to see a landlord who knows what he's doing. The handpull beers are changing regularly I now look forward to my now daily visit to sample new choices [my favorite is Doombar]
