A good-looking pub on the village green but inside it is much more of a restaurant than a pub, with the typical front-of-house greeter asking if you have a booking. There is a small bar and reception area with 4 stools, but otherwise entirely laid up for dining. All very pleasant and smart if you are eating, but not really for drinkers, although there are numerous tables outside which might be ok in summer. Three handpumps boasted TT Landlord, Black Sheep and Doom Bar - condition adequate.

More food orientated than it's close neigbour The Bricklayers Arms but was nontheless quite busy with drinkers. There is a small portion of the pub for drinking purposes but in the main everywhere else is set for dining. There is a lot of outside seating on the grassed area at the front of the pub also a fair sized garden to the rear. Despite the overall dining policy there seemed to be a solid bunch of drinking locals going by the conversations back and forth across the bar. Beers were Timothy.Taylors. Boltmaker,St Austell Tribute and as in the previous pub Surrey Hills Shere Drop and as before was drinking very well. Prefered the pub up the road but this is fine for a pint.
