Bill Mitchell left this review about The White Bear

After trying various local pubs known for food, I took my family and friends into this warm and friendly pub, right on the A61 Derby-Chesterfield road. What a discovery after driving past it so often! Food of nothing short of cordon bleu standard cooked by a much-feted chef. For the summer there is a garden overlooking the little Amber Valley, famous for its balloon rides. There are three levels of rooms to choose from, and space can be made for families. Why is this pub not crowded day after day, I shall never know.
