Black Country Mike from Chesterfield left this review about The Swan Inn

Now a Black Country Ales pub.

8 real ales on offer and all those I tried were excellent.

Please note: Kids & dogs are not welcome by the look of it - there was a notice on the entrance stating that this was the consensus of the regulars.

A detached cream rendered Victorian pub with beer garden at the back. The pub is in a cream render. Despite new windows and an added front porch some of the Victorian features can still be seen; small gables with gothic finials, rusticated endstones and an etched door window informing the the ddor was for the 'outdoor department'.

The interior has an open plan room the nearly encompasses the serving bar that faces you on entry. The walls are a split coffe and cream colour (i think) with a cream ceiling. It has a red patterned carpet floor, apart from around the bar and the dart area, where it is wood. There is a small annex, which has been converted from something into a seating area that is in green and white, with Victorian prints on the walls. Elsewhere, boxing pictures seemed to dominate. There is an eclectic mix of furniture, from stools to flowery sofas. There is a big pull-down screen TV, but this wasn't on and a TV around the other side, which had some programme on. The background music was a little on the loud side. The service was OK and a few mixed locals were in.

Beer; there was one handpull with Banks's MILD however this had ran out. Usual tap stuff, i had half of Worthington.

A run-of-the-mill kind of place - it may have been better for me personally if the MILD had been on.
