My visit here was a return one after an absence of just over 7 years. This old cinema is a Wetherspoon's with seating on a number of different levels. The bar area is at the ground level, with two levels above that and a balcony with further seating above that. Those who have ever visited a Wetherspoon's toilets will inevitable be used to stairs, but this was rather unique in that to get there from the bar, you have to go up one flight of steps and then down another!
The beer range has improved since semi-lockdown times. The usual 'spoon's staples of Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best & Sharp's Doom Bar were joined by a couple of guests - Wolf Howling Wolf & Purple Moose Madog's Ale. I opted for a Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon cider.
My previous rating on another site was 7 and I found it to be the best pub in town. I'm reducing it to a 6 and declaring that there are now others in Colwyn Bay that are better.

A late 90s Spoons conversion of a lovely Edwardian cinema over two levels. Sadly I didn't see much of the interior as we were stuck in a COVID corner but from my view it felt suitably impressive. Delivery issues and holidaymaker locusts meant only two ales were on, GK OSH and Abbot (NBSS 3). Staff were notably well organised and friendly despite the obvious strain, so a decent visit despite the limitations. Well-run Spoons generally deliver, and this was obvious here.

Superb conversion of an old cinema with multiple levels and a lot of period-style fittings. A reasonable beer selection on this visit with 4 guests (2 Welsh) alongside the usuals.
