Typical Wethers. A large open plan place with the bar to your right. 10 handpulls in two banks of 5. A reasonable selection of beers. Outside seating in the market square. It looked promising for the toilets being on the ground floor but alas no.

This place seems to have improved since my visit last year. It seemed less busy this time but there were a lot of people sitting outside. The beer choice was better although there was only one Locale beer. Although the staff seemed better organised there were a few occasions when the bar was understaffed and a queue built up.
I went for and stuck to the Mordue IPA (£2.29) which is a stronger golden ale from the current national list and was in good condition. The standard guest price has been reduced from £2.45 to £2.29.
I ate here as well and had the half of roast peri peri chicken which was a proper half of chicken rather than the quarter poussin I've ended up with in some outlets. The building is still the same but I enjoyed my stay here. Score upped from 4 to 7.

As noted below this Spoons is just a large square room and is fairly typical. The first set of five hand pumps were a total waste of time with the JDW Trio Of Doom and 2 unused. The second set was slightly better with the two GK beers, Hobgoblin, Warwickshire Winter's T'Ale and Prescott Hill Climb. I went for the Warwickshire beer which was cloudy so I sent it back. The barman asked someone else if it had been pulled through while trying again. This was just as bad so I had a Prescott Hill Climb which was clear but not that interesting. Guests here are £2.45 which is on the high side for a Midlands Spoons.
I didn't think much of this one.

A fine building from the outside but don't be fooled.
As every reviewer has noted, this is a shocker of a 'spoons with identikit open plan furniture, offensive and cheap modern art, very little reference to local history and loos up an Everest of a staircase. To add to the atmosphere there was a middle aged couple playing tonsil tennis while standing at the bar.
Beers on were the usual dreaded combination of Abbot, Ruddles Best, Doom Bar and Hobgoblin saved only by a very decent pint of North Cotswold Hung Drawn 'n' Portered. The other bright spot was the friendly and chatty barmaid who served us.
Difficult to find a good reason for a revisit.
