The Sir John Arderne is a Wethersspoons that is situated on the corner of the market place,so very handy for shoppers.
Once inside there is an irregular shaped room which is divided into different areas be pillars, the bar is on the right side, the seating is mainly normal tables and chairs plus a few tall ones.
The guest beer choice was pretty poor on my Thursday morning visit,i had a drink of Thwaites Lancaster Bomber which went down well, the other beers noted were Adnams Broadside,Doom Bar,GK Abbot x 2 and Ruddles best x2.
The pub was very busy with most having the breakfasts.
I quite liked this Spoons and will no doubt visit again when in Newark.

This is a medium sized Spoons that opened last century in Summer 1999. Inside it's fairly standard with the bar at the back and a room for eating on the left. It was busy on my Saturday afternoon visit but not impossibly so.
There are two banks of five hand pumps. The beer selection wasn't that great with the two GK beers doubled up, one pump unused, Doom Bore, Jennings Snecklifter, Pheasantry Pale Ale, Oldershaw Alchemy and Wadworth Dungarvan Irish Red. I went for the Alchemy (£2.15) which was in good nick. I also had a tuna baguette with salad and a pint of Alchemy that came to just £4.39.
I would say this is an average or slightly above average Spoons.
