This is an old school Spoons set in corner premises. As noted below it is fairly unremarkable but it was so busy on a Saturday afternoon I took my pint to the patio with the smokers.
The bar has two sets of six hand pumps which on my visit had one available soon, the JDW Trio of Doom, Nottingham Centurion and 7 festival ales. I went for the Dark Star Revelation (£2.15 festival / standard guest price). This was no Revelation at all as it was hazy and not as good as the one I had earlier in the Roebuck. Despite that this one looked to me like it's about average for a Spoons.

Very standard wetherspoons and one of the older spoons knocking around. This place is always busy with drinkers and diners especially on there deal nights. 12 hand pulls but three are always dedicated to real cider (Do the people of Arnold really drink that much real cider?, this is more than i have ever seen in a spoons before) along with regulars abbot, ruddels, and Ernhale bitter (re badged from Nottingham brewery beer that is sold in all Nottingham wetherspoons and made especially for them). This usually leaves up to five rotating guests with Dukeries and kellham island bees making regular appearances but this selection is not as good as the larger spoons in Sherwood which tends to get a more exciting rotation of beers.
Prices are cheaper than most wetherspoons though this one like most others has been hit by the national wetherspoons price increase. Still most real ales are £2.20 or under. An ok pub for some cheap beer but suffers with quality issues that I find in most spoons pubs and with the reassurance of Arnold's pub and real ale scene it will have to be on its guard if it wants to keep its customers. Arnold is an up and coming area on the nottingham beer scene.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Ernehale (JD Wetherspoon)

Large brick building, with slightly curious single-storey front and side extensions (looking like they pre-date conversion to a pub). Standard furniture and decor in several different seating areas, some up or down a few steps. 12 real ales on handpump, including the 'house' Erne'ale from Nottingham Brewery (£1.99).
