I thought the interior of this Spoons was very drab and tired looking. The walls were all painted in a cream colour, which had darkened over time and the main feature around the pub was dark framing around the walls and pillars. The entrance to the pub was small and narrow considering the length of the pub, this area also had a semi circle of two steps leading into the main room. The bar had a good choice of ciders, just a pity their ale selection was dire.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Red Well (JD Wetherspoon)

Large-looking 'spoons conversion, externally a rather strange amalgamation of two different buildings but all the same inside. Standard-issue furniture, but there are quite a few historical display panels about the place. Rather disappointing selection of real ales from six of ten handpumps, and my pint of Tring Side Pocket (£2.40) was a bit hazy too.

As noted below this looks like it should be a huge Spoons as the front of it seems enormous but once inside it is actually smaller than average as it is wide but doesn't extend back very far.
It's a low ceilinged single room all carpeted apart from the immediate bar area. There are the obligatory fruit machines here, five in this case which are intrusive as they are spread through the central part of the room.
It was fairly quiet on my Friday morning visit with a solitary member of the daytime brigade propping up the bar and drinking bottles of scrumpy, but he wasn't hardcore as I spotted him on the bus back to Northampton a few hours later.
Although there are 12 hand pumps on the bar the beer choice was poor. the two GK beers were doubled up then there were two boring options from the Marston's stable (Hobgoblin and Piledriver) available soon, two ciders, Adnam's Broadside and Hambleton's Nightmare which was off despite the clip showing otherwise. This left just two beer options Celtic Experience Dark Age and Grainstore Rutland Osprey. The Rutland Osprey was in good nick but the Dark age was in excellent condition. Both were priced at £2.10. I thought this was a better than average Spoons which makes it a shame that the beer selection let it down.
