This is a large rather dingy shop conversion so not the most attractive building. Inside it's just one big room with all the usual furnishings. The two banks of five pumps had two beers available soon, Hobgoblin and a new USA special called Exporter. Two ciders (Old Rosie and Black Dragon) were available and the rest was the two usual GK beers, Doom Bore, ELB East India Spice & Nightwatchman and Redemption Urban Dusk. After having to put up with the boring Spoons Xmas list for the last month it was nice to see three beers from local breweries. I went for the East India Spice which was in perfect nick. Despite the dreary building I thought this place showed promise. I would have upped the mark to 8 if the Exporter had been on.

A shop conversion 'spoons with the usual internal decor and a rank of high tables close to the front which seem popular with the locals.I came with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the ale range. There are two banks of five handpumps with Ruddles Best and Abbott as regulars. The guests on my trip were Leeds Yorkshire Gold,Cairngorm Tradewinds,Vale Gravitas (£2.39 and in top condition) with two handpumps given over to real cider.Avaiable soon notices were on pulls for Titanic White Star and Spitfire ,from the sublime to the ridiculous you could say but neither came on during my stay.
Given the pausity of decent real ale in Cheshunt ,this would have to be my first port of call on any future trip,I hope that I wasn't just very lucky on my maiden visit.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The King James (JD Wetherspoon)

A rather poor 'spoons, with lurking smokers at the door and a slightly edgy atmosphere. At least three of the handpumps were devoted to Greene King IPA, with most of the rest being the usual suspects (Abbot, Pedigree, etc.). Fortunately, there was one down the far end with Loddon Bamboozle (4.8% pale ale) which was a decent enough pint before I headed for the exit.
