Will Larter left this review about Punch Bowl
A box-like building on the sea front looking to catch passing day trippers. Once inside, there's been a mostly successful attempt to make the place look like a traditional pub, with curtains, carpet and wallpaper that wouldn't look out of place anywhere from Pontefract to Accrington. Food led, as might be expected, and there's only one hand pump, so it's not exactly a destination pub for beer tourists (I just popped in for a swift half on the way back from the football at Blundell Park). Theakstons Best Bitter was the sole ale on offer, and this pub may well have been the last place I drank a decent example of the beer, as I've had some stinkers since and it's now on my "don't drink" list.
