Taylors beers still prominent on the bar, they provided 3 of the 4 real ales, the Boltmaker was in pretty average condition though and the pub is mediocre. Boring generic decor and table service in operation due to the cramped interior. in other towns it would be alright but I couldn’t wait to get to York’s many more interesting pubs.

Seems to be a Taylors pub, entrance down covered alley. Beer could be better quality. Raised bar area, nice enough building

The Blue Boar was called the Little John when i first went in it,so it was a bad mistake of mine to go in this pub on my crawl.

You have to go up an alley to get to the entrance.
Once inside there is a oblong shaped room which is split into two levels, the serving bar is on the upper level, the room is bare boarded, the seating normal tables and chairs.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Leeds Pale which went down very well, the other beers were Taylor Landlord,Hook Norton Lion,Moorhouses Pride of Pendle and Hobgoblin.
Decent background music was playing, the pub was fairly busy on my Saturday dinner visit.
I thought this was a decent enough place to have a couple of drinks.
