Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The White House

1930s roadhouse pub, now run by the Sizzling pubco. The building form is quite unusual, with a curved end that is also reflected inside by the layout of several slightly raised seating / dining areas. Unfortunately, the interest doesn't extend to the bland, semi-modern furniture and decoration. I was unlucky with the beer selection, finding reversed clips on two of three handpumps, but no Doom Bar or Landlord until Friday apparently. Grumpily made do with a John Smith's (£3.30) before moving on.

Soup Dragon left this review about The White House

A large detached Sizzle pubco place, with white painted brick exterior and apsidal end, with beer patio.

The interior is open plan, mainly given over to food, with a small area for drinkers which has a pool table and Sky TV. The decor is modern, with different coloured plain walls; white, green, red, mustard, plum etc, with a few wierd lamps, mirrors and a couple of vases - very much like the Smithy Forge, a sister pub. Whilst not as bad as an Ember Inn, it is pretty soulless, though service was fine and it was busy with a mixed clientele. There were touches of the former pub - a few beams, but not enough for my tastes. Backgound music was at a decent level.

Beer; tap stuff, with Banks's smooth and on handpull, Banks's Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Pedigree.

No feel to the place, just cant be doing with this kind of pubco, many of course will like it, or more likely, not care.
