We as a family have been there for the past four years whilst on holiday & have had to endure the repitition of the music by dj 'no mercy' lol ....truthfully he does not give any mercy either with endless cheese, disco & soca tracks that have been used year after year previously, with most of the clientele coming from Barnsley & surrounding south Yorkshire areas & most looking like they could be candidates for the Jeremy Kyle show,
The beer ain't fab & as a Guinness drinker i found my pint to be a little warmer than usual, with bar staff that have been recruited for the season & some polish totty pulling pints for eye candy, the security/doormen strut around as if they are a mini army & are usually found at the end of the bar near to the men's toilets, on a plus the place has a decent children's soft play area, a chippy & a late night nightclub called sylvies that stays open til 4am .....conclusion, chav sounds for the discerning Yorkshireman

This is a detached family bar with a front patio - in fact, don't think of it as a family bar, think of it for what it actually is - this is a holiday camp entertainment room for the caravan park. Billy Butlin built his first camp here in the late 1930s and by the 1960s Inglodmells has become a pleasure beach surrounded by caravans and a bar infastructure to match. Sealands is one such bar, being a 1960s low-level brick build, which gets less exciting when you walk through the door.

The interior is an open-plan warehouse with a long serving bar down one side and a central zone that consists of a kiddies ball play area, a kid's grabbing machine, a shop that was selling kids scary Dracula teeth and other such necessities for the under 8s, as well as a dance floor with accompanying DJ booth area - good to see a mullet again. For the descerning young adult there are a couple of pool tables and a punchbag machine. For someone my age, there is the exit. For those that are somewhat older, the long rows of tables will at least remind them of sing-songs with red coats and coaching holidays at Butlins, when beer coast a shilling, was served in a jug glass and Carling Black Label was still a woman's drink and only available in bottles.

The decor has some pine wood panel, with a splash of red, along with a red carpet and white polystyrene ceiling tiles. The ceiling support columns daringly mix colours. I don't recall anything in the way of pictures on the walls. It was 7pm when i visited and there were few in, though this didn't stop the DJ from hitting out Soft Cell at the level of a Bonnie Langford scream. The service was functional at best. I took one grunt for 'what can i get you?' and two for 'And there be your change, Sir.... have a nice day'.

Beer; well, no real ale, just general tap stuff. The Guinness was OK at best.

I just had to go out of my way to visit here after a string of one-post reviewers mainly damned the place, despite visiting 'every night'. I sympathise, but don't whinge about this place, it is clearly obvious what it is. If you care about beer, then go to a proper pub and if you care about your holiday, then don't go to Ingoldmells.
