As noted below this is an original pub but inside could be any building. It's an open plan square room with the bar on the left, a raised eating area to the right and a patio downstairs. I noticed the food prices were cheaper than average here and the standard guest ale price was £1.99. The beer choice was average with ten hand pumps having two available soon, the JDW Trio of Doom with Ruddles doubled, Acorn Gorlovka doubled & Pekko IPA and Little Critters Chameleon Simcoe. I went for the Simcoe (£2.15) which was in good nick. I thought this one was OK but nothing to shout about.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Horseshoe (JD Wetherspoon)

Substantial detached pub, with the present building dating from the late 1930s. Unfortunately, it is now very much a 'spoons by numbers inside, with a variety of seating areas but nothing of real note. Also has a few small tables out front, and a particularly dull side patio optimistically called a beer garden. Fair selection from two banks of five handpumps, with eight beers on including Black Lightning from Kelham Island (£1.99).

The Horseshoe is a Spoons house that is situated in Wombwells main shopping area, the pub has a slight art deco look to it.
Once inside there is one large square shaped room which is divided into different areas, the bar runs down the left side, there are the usuall tall tables and chairs here, there is a large raised area to the rear right which has normal tables and chairs, this seems to be the area favoured by diners, the front right is also raised, this area had normal tables and chairs and leather settees.
There were ten pumps on the bar, four had waiting signs on them and two had ciders, this left a poor choice of four real ales, this was so bad i opted for the Ruddles best, this was a decent enough drink, the other beers were Acorn Glordover,Hobgoblin and Bombardier.
There are signs saying rear beer garden, this is a small walled area at the back of the pub with no grass, this looked very depressing,to call this area a beer garden is a travesty.
I have been i many Spoons and like most, this was a very poor one.
