Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Aston Tavern
Mostly a boutique hotel and daytime 'coffee & cake' establishment, but also some kind of members bar before Villa home games. However, it does still operate as a pub on some other occasions such as concerts in the football stadium, and there is a courtyard seating area beyond the bar. Almost drunk dry when I finally managed to find the place open on the evening of the Bruce Springsteen show, with just Carling (£4.65), Guinness and Aspalls cider still on. Altogether a schizophrenic sort of place.

As Soupy says below this pub was shut for years. I used it quite often in the late 80's and early 90's but I haven't been in since the refurb. Very popular on matchdays when you can expect a small charge to enter!

This pub has been closed now for 15 years. I passed it last night and scaffolding was up all around it. It appears that the plans to demolish the nearby King Edward VII, to widen the road junction, are going ahead, but the landlord there has been offered a the Aston Tavern in exchange. So, refurbishment has started, which means I will have to come back at a future date to visit a pub i have not been in since the 90s.
