A decent pub and its very friendly with Timothy Taylor beers. As you enter you have a small bar area and a staircase (which you can't climb. At least not on this Saturday afternoon). To the rear the pub stretches out. Tim Taylor beer range available.

Located in the centre of Skipton the woolly sheep is one of their fancy gastro style fine dining pubs. With this said it still feels like a pub and not a restaurant which is good and although extensively refurbished it keeps a classic pub feel but one of a fancy, clean modern take on a classic interior. The bar is to the left as you walk in and is on the small side with only a few tables and chairs with some standing room. There is a lovely real fire which makes this room especially cosy. The main bar is to the right which extends on to the main dining room. Food is a big deal here is there more people dining than just drinking. We sat and had a bit to eat which was very nice but on the pricy side (or the normal side for Skipton). Beers available was the full range from Taylors and a guest I can’t remember as well as their Fezziwig porter from their new microbrewery. The Fezzwig was a horrendous £3.85 but man was it good, perfectly kept and went down a dream really a fantastic drop like most of their beers. I would have liked to stayed longer and enjoyed a few more of the range, especially in the bar area as it looked like a real treat and the sort of place you could shimmy up for a long times, especially near the fire a freezing day like it was. I will defiantly be returning when next in Skipton but will be taking a food few quid with me as this place is not cheap. This is why Taylors have always frustrated me, they make some of the best beer around but god don’t they know it as well with prices to match. Aside from half the pub being all foody the part that is still a pub is a real treat.

Lovely pub. TT Ram Tam, Landlord, Boltmaker, Golden Best, Dark Mild and two (untasted) from Moorhouses on tap. The Boltmaker, Golden Best and Dark Mild were superb. TT in Yorkshire is always quality. Service was excellent and it was very busy on a Saturday in August. We ate and the food was excellent. A very, very good pub.
