UPDATE: The two rooms have been knocked through since my last visit. The sale board has gone since Quickie visited and so has the real ale. Has darts and pool, as well TVs showing soaps. One for the locals.
*********************************
FEB 2011: I assume that the original pub in fact dates from c1850 - a much older building than the now 1940s undressed brick facade indicates. There is a patio area. The pub is mentioned in the 2011 Real Ale guide.

The interior has two rooms; a lounge and bar, both of which are in white and red. The lounge is at the back of the pub and is set out with tables and a few sofas, with prints on the walls. The bar is at the front and has a tile flooring, with a dart board, TV (Italian MTV on at my last visit) and there is beer (Guinness) and Southern Comfort pictures on the walls. The service has improved since my visit last year and the clientele seems to be a good mix and friendly - several saying bye as i left. Music was supplied by the TV.

Beer; tap stuff with a couple of real ale handpulls now - Wells Bombardier, with a guest, recently seeing Banks's MILD and a really decent Backyard Brewery's Penda.

A pub that is getting back on track after a period of decline. Real ale is back, along with some atmosphere. Whilst it is now more than worthy of popping in, i am not sure about its nomination by the Real Ale Pub Guide 2011 as 'the' Bloxwich entry - when you have the Turf.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Sir Robert Peel

Substantial pub on the edge of town, partially opened at some stage to leave a 'J'-shaped bar with a variety of different spaces. These range from a sizeable dining area at one end (although food service stops at 18:00 on weekdays), past the sparsely furnished bar area through to the pool table at the far end; all refurbished in a semi-modern style. Also has some wooden benches out on the front patio). Unfortunately, just Doom Bar (£3.00) available from the two banks of three handpumps, perhaps explained by (or maybe explaining) the "fantastic business opportunity" signs outside.

This pub is just off the town centre on a main road,i did'nt like the look of this pub from the outside and was'nt expecting it to be any good inside.
I was wrong there were two rooms and i went in the lounge this was a comfortable room to have a drink in,there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Enville bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Banks's mild and GK Abbot.
