It's still all downhill for this bar at the moment. It's only open Friday - Sunday and even then only when there's something on in the hall. Last weekend the Fleetwood beer festival was in the hall, this bar was shut and was being used as the staff room for the festival. Sums up the state the place is in now really.

This one really shouldn't be in the GBG at all. Until 18 months or so ago this was a pleasant lounge bar with comfortable red banquette type seating, a fairly mature clientele, motown or similar style music playing in the background and 8 handpumps dispensing Moorhouses Premier and 7 ever changing guests. In this guise it won the local CAMRA pub of the year 3 times in about 7 years. Sadly it has now been ruined. The walls are painted light blue and all the red seating has gone to be replaced with high wooden tables and dining room style leather covered chairs. All the mature clientele have gone and have been replaced by empty space at 8 p.m. on a Saturday. There are now only 3 handpumps and the only thing that hasn’t changed is that Premier was still on the bar along with Pendle Witch and another beer that was so unmemorable that I can't remember what it was when we called in on Saturday. The pint of Premier I had was pretty average as well. The bar is now only open Friday – Sunday. What happens to the cask ale between Sunday and the following Friday? It deteriorates that's what. It’s now a characterless place that certainly won’t repay the councils investment in the “improvement”. It’s a real shame.

According to the GBG this bar is usually open week-ends only. During the week it opens only when there is a function in the hall. Visitors are advised to contact the box office and check opening hours.
