One of many bars and restaurants on the three-level structure linking the Mailbox and The Cube. This one is in the middle section and has seating out on the terrace overlooking the canal (although in winter the tables are covered by unusual illuminated 'igloos' / geodesic domes). The interior is mostly set aside for dining, with a mix of semi-modern furniture and a row of booths on the side wall opposite the counter. Illumination levels are low, although the festive lighting helps a bit in December. Six of the craft keg taps on the bar-back were in use, with a fairly standard selection of beers and ciders, but on my visit Tiny Rebel's Easy Livin' (£5.90) was available as a guest.

Identical to all the other bars in this area. A large open plan room with fizz-u-likes and cocktail dullness abounding. Not cheap either.

Revisit 24/06/2015 - Name change ton Gas Street Social. Totally refurbed and is a comtempory bar overlooking the canal on the middle level of the Mailbox's bar/restaurants.

Main bar area has stools and plastic bar overlooking the canal with the main space given over to various benches and group social drinking areas and boothes on the far wall. The corridor seating to the toilets remains from the previous Bar Room Bar. There is an open kitchen on one side. Trendy drinking cocktails and 7 craft beers & one craft cider (Sharps Orchard). They are served via weird pump handles (such as a hammer and a gun handle).

Its ok, a little pretentious. There is little description given to the choice of the keg beers and the one I had was average (Reble Red Amber).

01/12/2010 Another one of the bars/eateries at the rear of the Mailbox, its situated on the middle level next to Bar Epernay.

Its a modern, purpose built shell with a trendy feel. There are dark and light spots and various seating choices from sofas to bucket chairs to high stolls around tables and boothes to one side. There is a mosaic tile floor around a central bar. Overall its a bit more relaxing but also lively than the bar next door and has a nicer feel, though by no means a classic must visit venue.

There are often offers on the hand cooked pizzas. There is Big Screen TV.

Ale in the form of keg John Smiths cool and at £3.30 a pint is a little hefty.

Lively in the evenings.
