I did'nt like the look of this pub when i took the photo, double glazed windows and an hotel look to it.
Once inside here it was a lot better there was a dining area to the left which was very quiet we went in the smallish bar to the right this was a wood pannelled room with small tables and stools we grabbed a seat next to the window the view was very nice looking down to Youlgreave.
There were five real ales that i could see i think there were more i had a drink of Whim Hartington Bitter which was very nice the other beers were Jarrow River Catcher,Peak Ales Nemesis,Everards Tiger Bitter and a beer called Jubilee Stout.
This is one of the best pubs i have been in recently the room was nice and comfortable the beer was really nice the view great i could'nt fault that room to the right,we would very happily come here again.

Over Haddon is a quiet village but we visited as part of a walk from the Camra book of Peak District Pub Walks. This place is popular with walkers but muddy boots must be left by the door. There’s nothing special about the external appearance of this pub/hotel but it was good enough inside with a dog-friendly bar, another room that was laid out for dining, and a terrace extension to exploit one of the main assets of the pub which is its uninterrupted view over the Lathkil valley. A public footpath just outside the pub leads you on a fairly easy and pleasant walk across the fields and alongside the river towards Youlgrave (fork right at the narrow tarmac road) or Alport (keep following the river).

On handpull there was Everard’s Tiger, Hartington Bitter, Slater’s Top Totty, Buxton Kinder Down Fall (which was fine) and Cottage Brewing Hurricane Ale. GBG 2010 and 2011 entry. I would visit again if I fancied a walk from Youlgrave but I would stay overnight in Youlgrave because it has 3 pubs and it is therefore easier to move from pub to pub to suit your mood.
