The Falcon Inn is a country pub set in a picturesque village, which seems a world away from nearby Newquay. Over 10 years on from the last review, the pub is still in the latest (2022) Good Beer Guide.
Opening hours are on the limited side, with all day closure on a Monday and afternoon closures midweek. I managed to get here shortly before they were closing on Tuesday afternoon, but a couple of locals had almost full pints when I arrived. So, the barmaid seemed happy enough to serve me.
Dartmoor Legend is a regular beer here. I chose the guest beer, which was Tintagel Castle Gold on this occasion.
Limited parking can be found at the rear. But the large village car park is also just a short walk away.

Caught the 556 bus that runs hourly between Newquay and Padstow to visit this 2011 Good Beeer Guide pub. It is not far from Newquay airport in a charming village. There is a single bar area and separate dining area, and there were 4 handpulls of St Austell ales, and we chose the Dartmoor and Trelawney, both in excellent condition. We took the beers outside to the garden and couldn’t resist the parsnip and thyme soup and bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich which was served with salad and crisps. There was a trophy cabinet in the pub, and a board outside stated there was going to be a euchre tournament. I hadn’t a clue what that was, so looked it up and it is a trumping card game.
