Tidy place with a nice traditional feel. Opened-out a bit but you can still see the old division via the surprisingly neat arched supports. Of real interest is the smoke room replete with stained door. The cask; Marstons Pedigree, Wainwright Gold and Copper Dragon Golden Pippin (NBSS 2.5). Only one other customer on a wet January Monday but it was a friendly place nonetheless. Hopefully it gets fuller as the week goes on else you wonder if it’s got long left.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Wharf Tavern
A traditional pub that has been past down from father to son. There are a couple of photos behind the bar of his mother and father and the barmaid told us that his father ran the pub for 61 years. The interior of the pub is well kept and hasn't been altered. I especially liked the snug, which is found on the right hand side of the entrance and still retains an old gas fire. As it is getting near Christmas all the Xmas decorations were hanging from the ceilings. Most of which I recognised from the 70's and 80's, that have been well preserved, to still make an annual appearance.
Three handpumps on the bar with Lancaster Bomber, Thwaites Wainwright and Copper Dragon Golden Pippin. I went for the Lancaster Bomber, which was in excellent condition and only cost £2.60 a pint. The locals where all friendly and chatty, so well worth a visit.

One of the 'flat iron' style of pubs. Nice enough but with inconvenient midweek opening hours.
