An Inn with 15 rooms. The ground floor comprises a bistro, a lounge (with a serving hatch through to the bar), a 'reserved' room and a bar room. The bar room is compact with just 6 small tables but it is characterful and has a nice feel to the place. The walls have dark wood panelling on the lower half but the upper half is painted in such a way that gives them a worn leather look. The floor is covered by a red patterned carpet.
On handpull there was Jennings Cumberland Ale, Coniston Bluebird Bitter and Cumberland Corby Ale. Lunch of sandwiches was pricey to say the least but you pay for the surroundings. I would happily return if I was looking for a slightly up market evening out or overnight stay.

Got to be one of the best places to stay in the world. Wonderful, old fashioned bar, amazing setting. Marvellous
