A lovely canalside pub. Very olde worlde this pub is split into 3 areas. A small front area greets you and then to your right is the bar area and beyond that a dining area. Out back is another building. This pub is called Th'owd Tithebarn apparently. The front is low beamed by the other two areas have high ceilings. Lots of old agricultural equipment is dotted around the place and you have stone floors and bare brick walls. The bar has 4 handpumps and today's selection was York Brewery Guzzler and Terrier; Bowl and Autumn Red and Snowhills Porter. I liked this place a lot.

This heavily beamed ivy clad pub is located in an idyllic setting on the banks of a canal basin. The building has stood here since the early 1700's and was an old tithe barn that used to store corn. It has a barn like interior with various pieces of old farming equipment on display.I sampled the York Brewery's Guzzler (3.6%ABV)which was quite a decent pint.Ifound the staff friendly and helpful, and will certainly be calling in again next time i am in the area.
