Still as described by Blackthorn, below, this city centre faux-Australian drinking den is a loud, unfriendly establishment with little charm and no conviviality. The muzak was absolutely awful, the attitude of the staff was very off-hand, and there was no real ale or cider. The keg choices were Camden Hells, Brixton IPA, Fosters, Heineken, Guinness, Strongbow, Thatcher's Gold and Haze, Moretti, Brooklyn Pilsner, Amstel, Peroni and Inch's Cider. OK if all you want is a late night noisy testosterone-fuelled shouting match, but best avoided by sensible humans.

A large Aussie themed sports bar, this has been a consistent feature on Corn Street for many years, unlike many of the other bars nearby which seem to change their name every couple of months. That may of course lead you to infer that it’s one of the street’s better establishments, but if that is the case it really doesn’t say much for the rest of them.

Inside it’s a single room with a large, high ceiling and was probably a bank in a former life as were most of the nearby properties. There is some detailed sculpturing on the ceiling at the front, but it’s not as impressive as places such as The Commercial Rooms or Rehab, and in any case rather than try and make a feature of it they have largely obscured it with air conditioning ducting, cable trays, speakers and lighting rigs. As previously mentioned, sport is a dominant theme here and wherever you sat there was a wide selection of screens to view. There were no less than five plasmas above the bar as well as two more behind it, countless others elsewhere and two very large projection screens at each end and they were showing a selection of different sports channels.

Decor wise, the paintwork is a mixture of red, orange and yellow and there was some type of laminate wood flooring. The tables were of a slatted wood construction, typically like you might get outside rather than in. Perhaps hinting at the Aussie / barbeque theme? The menu too had Australian influences, with several dishes featuring kangaroo. These were highlighted with a yellow “roo” symbol, which makes a change from the usual meat/nut/gluten free markings. Although I didn’t inspect the menu closely, it looked to be a fairly cheap and cheerful mass produced affair and included a good selection of burgers. Most of the main courses were in the £4 - £5 range.

Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap. The only thing even vaguely resembling a bitter was John Smith’s Extra Cold. Ciders faired little better with just Strongbow or Magners Golden Draught.
