Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Beehive

Corner pub housed under a rather dull low-rise block, but enlivened slightly by the patio seating area on both sides. Plainly furnished with a mix of seating in the 'L'-shaped bar and games room (with pool table) located at one end. Not much in the way of decor, but a decent atmosphere with a mostly young crowd in and some good music in the background. Also offers B&B accommodation. Sadly, no real ale offered, so I made do with the Younger's Best (just £2.50) as an alternative to the inevitable John Smith's. Gives the impression of being a decent local, if only it did some proper beer...

The Beehive is a largish corner pub on the New North Road , just north of Old Street.
From the outside this is one of the more inviting estate-type pubs and although of no architectural merit being built on the bottom of a housing block, it is set back from the road and has a very decent outside patio drinking area on the two road sides equipped with large Jumbrellas.
Internally it’s not too bad either being a two roomed pub as mentioned below and the main bar is a large L shaped are with plenty of decent seating.
In fact the only thing that let this place down for me was, despite advertising itself as a Free House, both on the pub sign and on the awnings, there is no real ale here and you have to be content with the standard draft offerings. That seemed OK for the locals propping up the bar during my visit, but with the promise of better beers later on I just had a quick softy and moved on. Shame though, because I would have been happy to stay longer.
