More cafe than bar but it does do one local ale as well as the usual fizzypop.

Very quiet compared to the last three years when we have been staying there

This place serves it different customers well depending on the time of day. My first visit was at 10am when I took refuge from the rain with coffee and cake. A large plasma TV showing images of a roaring fire gave a nice warming effect. Later one afternoon I called in and took advantage of the decent pub/cafe menu. I also saw a sign for a basement bar that opens at 9pm. Regular keg offering and also a cask Black Sheep. Outside seating partly covered.
